The Louisiana to Los Angeles Organizing Committee, Inc. better known as LA LA is a nonprofit (501 C3) charitable and social organization established in 1988. The primary focus of the organization is to raise educational funds for local youth and to preserve the rich Louisiana Mardi Gras culture. Most members are from Louisiana or desendents.

The 2nd Liners are a part of this organization. The 2nd Line is a traditional Mardi Gras dance performed in Louisiana. The “2nd Liners” perform on TV and a variety of events including the Los Angeles Black Business Expo, Magic Johnson’s Summer Midnight Madness Mardi Gras, the John Paul Getty House, funerals, parties, and parades throughout the year to raise funds for youth scholarships.

High school seniors that are recipients of the LALA Mardi Gras Scholarships attend various institutes of higher learning including LUV League Colleges and Universities such as, Berkeley University, Yale in addition to Historical Black Colleges and Universities - Howard University, Spellman and Morehouse. They return to the community as caring and giving citizens and contribute to society as Lawyers, Educators, Professional Football Players, Entrepreneurs and the list goes on.
